DNA Testing in Cape Town
Cape Town is the ‘Mother City’ of South Africa and has some breathtaking vistas; you can jog around Sea Point Promenade or climb up the Lion’s Head and look over the giant boulders at Sandy Bay. Or for the more relaxing outing why not take a beautiful drive along the amazing coastal roads down to Cape Point which will also not fail to disappoint. Enjoy a the tasty South African wines on an old farm in Constantia or a picnic at the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and find yourself in sync with South Africa’s finest natural beauty. For the more active of you head off and learn to surf; go hiking, tandem paraglide off Lion’s Head or abseil off Table Mountain amongst other fabulous things to do in Cape Town. There are lots of places to visit nearby: Robben Island and Nelson Mandela Gateway are a must see landmark. Used as a prison and now a world heritage site, this is where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for so many years. Book well in advance as this trip can sell out very quickly.
Overall Cape Town is a marvelous city, cosmopolitan with a vibrant café scene and restaurants galore. Head to Shimmy Beach Club if you want a piece of the action, this is a glitzy mega-club and a restaurant, arranged around a fake beach and glass sided pool. Sundays here include a DJ and dancers shimmying along to summer classics. If you’re looking for something more personal and smaller, try Honest Chocolate Café, who have used crowd funding to create the Woodstock Exchange and created a very smooth dark chocolate in liquid, cake and ice cream form, a chocoholic’s dream and with gluten free and vegan options available it is a surefire winner. Wednesday through Saturday they run an intimate bar, in the courtyard at the back.
Get down to Watershed, the best place to buy your souvenirs, (as it’s all in one place), in Cape Town. All kinds of fashion, crafts and design and arts are on sale here and there is something for everyone even ‘blik’ guitars made from oil cans and fishing wire from Township Guitars, who amongst many other boutiques and crafts stores, all have a retail outlet here.
